People with disabilities face additional challenges during emergencies.  Moving from one location to another can be difficult and may requires assistance.  Having a plan is especially important should an unexpected emergency occur.  Knowing what to do, how to evacuate a building, what items to carry,  and how to request help are all important and should be considered.

To help with this process, the Office of Emergency Preparedness has prepared a guide to help people with mobility impairment develop a personal plan.  View the Mobility Impairment Emergency Planning Guide (pdf).
